You or I could pose arguments one way or another and have just as much validity as the writer''s. Never bet on the future until it has happened--you never what is going to happen tomorrow. Just a few years ago we were supposedly running out of oil in the US; now we are on track to become a major producer again and by 2020 the western hemisphere is projected to become the center of oil production and the middle east will become a has been. Or so "experts" predict.
Some of his comments are misstatements or just garbage. 50 cents a watt for solar? He needs to clarify that--is that the cost of the infrastructure to build the system? My backup generator cost me 12 cents per watt. Did he misstate what he meant, did he mean delivered power can cost 50 cents per kilowatt, instead of watt? I pay about 10 cents per kilowatt for utility power.
Germany is backing off their huge subsidies for solar--it was somewhere around 50 cents per kilowatt hour if my source is correct.
I've determined after years of careful study that the sun doesn't shine all the time nor does the wind blow all the time.
Fracking contaminating drinking water that is so often claimed, it's one of those things that is theoretically possible but rarely happens. Water supplies usually come from within 1,000 feet or closer to the surface; gas wells usually 5000 to 20000 feet deep. The alarmists point to a video of a faucet in Pennsylvania that produces so much gas that you can burn the water. Turns out that in that part of the country there are a lot of methane pockets near the surface and the effect shown has nothing to do with fracking. Total fraud. But the lawyers are getting involved, so what do you expect? Gas companies have deep pockets!
