Advance Auto is running a special through September 26th for five 1-quart bottles of any blend of Mobil-1, or one 5.1 quart jug, and a Mobil-1 filter for $29.99. Only the EP formulations are excluded. Limit of five such deals to any one customer.

I bought two deals since my wife's 9-3SC 2.0T will be needing its 6-month oil change in early October and my 9-5 Aero will be needing a 5K mile oil change in two weeks time.

For the 9-3 2.0T I got the M1c-151 filter and a 5.1 quart jug of 0W/40, leaving me one quart shy of the necessary oil amount to do an oil change.

For my 9-5 I got the M1-209 oversized filter and four quarts of 5W/40. To equal the offer quantities I also bought one quart of 0W/40 to give me enough oil for the wife's car.

The Point Of Sale terminals had no difficulty with the first package. The machines could not handle the second combination of oils and filter so it took time and a lot of effort by the Store Manager for me to cashout at a total close to the "Oil Change Special" amount.

Assuming a regular price of $9/qt for the oils and a filter price of $12, this deal is almost 50% off!
