A Solar Pool question for the Saabnet Experience trust Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 10 Sep 2012 15:53:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My wife and I closed our in ground pool for the winter this past weekend. With each passing year our required comfortable swimming temperature for the pool water keeps going up and we don't have a heater for our pool.
The filter and pump for our pool are located adjacent to the house in the corner where the single story family room juts out from the two story portion of the house, creating an excellent opportunity to seasonally install a solar pool heater on the family room roof The roof is 20ft wide at this point with an approximate 30ft eave to peak dimension.
What advice can anyone offer about the ease of installation, best brands to install, brands or types to avoid, etc. I see most of them are large thin rectangular sheets up to 4ft 20ft size which would work well on our roof. I also spotted some square base domes containing helical coils of black tubing.
Thanks in advance.
