I got the Magnaflow because they have a good reputation, it's stainless, it's a straight through glasspack design, so it fits in the center tunnel, and it's made in the US. As far as I'm concerned, mufflers are only designed for a range of flow rates, they don't know what's up front.
On a related note, I have always been curious what the car would sound like with a chambered muffler, like a Flowmaster. I have Flowmaster Delta 50 Series on my pickup, and I love the sound. I probably would have bought one of their stainless ones instead of the Magnaflow, but it would have to go in the back, which is a much bigger undertaking than my current plan since I'd have to do a lot more plumbing.
