A 16" is a good choice for limbing and taking down small trees. How big is your largest trunk? If you have a lot of large trunks then maybe you can limb everything with the 16" and then rent a larger saw to cut the trunks to size and then split them with an axe/maul/wedge combination. I assume you want to make firewood.
I have a made in Sweden Husqvarna chain saw that I really like. Besides Stihl, there is also Echo. I would stay away from most other brands.
