A few weeks back I posted about a Tech 2 that I picked up online, shipped directly from China. My first impressions were very high for the product, and after a few weeks, they are....still pretty high, I think (but I might not know any better).
One thing I hadn't done yet as of my last posting is try to connect it to my computer to use TIS 2000. After a bit of research, I opted to buy the Plugable USB Serial Converter with Prolific Chipset to connect it to my PC running WinXP. This can be found on amazon. After using the chipset detection tool to figure out the COM port, I was able to tell TIS to use the COM port and it connected just fine. Downloaded a few snapshots, but haven't done any SPS programming as of yet.
One thing i've noticed is that when running in Snapshot mode, it can take between one and two seconds to update all of the fields it is recording. This can be seen well in the graphic below - is this normal?
Now if I can only figure out what to do with all of the data i'm getting.
