Hi - I have an 12 year old AC system in my house - I think it's 10 SEER and 3 ton - doesn't work great but part of that is because the ducting in the house was pretty much designed for heat - the AC was added on later.

I've never had this unit checked or serviced, the return line is just warm, really not all that warm, not hot like a return line on a car AC unit - but I'm assuming this is normal.

So is my assumption on the return line from the evap unit correct - and is it wise to have these units checked after 12 yrs.

thanks for any comments. I am a cheaptech and very rarely pay others to service my cars appliances etc.
