maybe he means the NG 9-5. There is a lot less knowledge, skills, tools, parts, etc out in the world for that car.
The 9-3ss is more tech2 dependent than 9-5, but they are at least quite prolific. We in part opted for the 9-5 for this reason. That said, I wouldn't fear driving one so long as there was a tech2 generally available (which we have because we have a saab indy). would be more of an issue for the more rural folk here.
That said, it is quite possible the c900's will outlast them all. Easy to diy, fun, remarkably safe, quickly becoming collector's cars. Biggest issue is rust. Rust never sleeps! stupid salt...
