...to a physicist anyway... the colour we see is just the spectrum of reflected light from an object, and most paints have quite a distribution of wavelengths (even "primary colours" like red and blue)... now what is interesting (if a bit gaudy) are the thin film interference filters applied to cars, so that the colour changes as it drives by. would go well with 22" wheels and a 4" tin can exhaust... ha! yeah, I wouldn't do that to my own car...
is white actually better for hiding dirt than silver? I thought the slightly earth toned silvers were generally deemed the best in that regard? I tend to like classic colours the best: reds, cosmic blue, silver is great but has been over used lately. Black looks nice but too hot and too much work to keep clean.
Large white (or black) cars annoy me - they look like unmarked cop cars, so I am sometimes nervous passing them... though the cops have started diversifying lately...
