I think this would be a tie between the Jetta TDi and the BMW M Coupe, both cars I've been interested in.

For the BMW M Coupe, a 2000 model with the 240HP S52 engine will go for $20,000-$30,000, depending on mileage, condition and location. I did see one for $15k near me recently, but it sold in less than a day. If you want the rarer 315HP S54 engine you are paying a lot more. I love the looks of these cars (it is an acquired taste), and by all accounts they drive great, but the prices seem crazy.

Similarly for the Jetta TDi. I was looking for a manual transmission wagon as a possible replacement for my wife's 9k, but 2005/2006 models were around $15k. You can get two 9-5 Aero's for that price (we only got one!).

Any other contenders for most overpriced cars? Or are we just spoiled by Saab's being undervalued?
