While it would be wonderful if NEVS could be the phoenix rising from the ashes of Saab, it just isn't a reality for us on this side of the Atlantic. And probably not in Europe,either, where an EV may be an easier sell.
To rebuild a dealer organization in the U.S. would require seriously deep pockets, let alone what would be required promote a car built from an orphaned brand. A small company really doesn't have the financial clout to pull it off, while doing the R&D needed to keep rolling out new models and advance the technology.
Within 5 years ALL the mainstream automakers will have hybrids, pure plug-in EVs or cars like the Volt and there won't be room for something else. Interlopers like Tesla are a wild card, so could NEVS go up against them and the big dogs? I wouldn't bet on it.
