better but still awkward... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Sun, 27 Oct 2013 18:28:49 In Reply to: link, Brucer, Sun, 27 Oct 2013 11:59:28 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the concavity on the rear window, the bulge under the spoiler at the rear (looks like a double chin), the line that becomes more pronounced at the back leading to the double chin... leaves it feeling less wedgy than I'd like... but it's not bad overall I guess... I just think it is too much of a confused mess of Saab design cues... too big of a melting pot. Start with the SPG and modernize that imho... as a c900 owner, I may be biased, but if the SPG is the icon, well, I think it makes sense to have a strong connection... that's all...
I do mostly like the back ends of the 2 smaller cars though... I don't care for the phoeniX front end on the Sonett, but the back end is not bad at all! I'm not a Sonett purist, but he captures that wedgy slant on the back pretty well to my eye. Really like it. Same on the 9-1 - nice and simple. The only thing is I prefer a concave back end rather than convex - I know the oldest Saabs (including the Sonett) were convex, but the late 9k and spg get more of a concave look which I prefer. (strictly speaking, the glass on the spg and especially 9k is convex, but the metal work gives an overall concave feel)
