We visited the SAAB museum in 1999 on the last day before the Christmas holiday. Great experience and the folks there gave us all kinds of goodies. Maybe it was the Christmas spirit or Aquavit.

There is an ice bar in Stockholm which might save the travel to the icehotel. In Stockholm do visit the Vasa museum. The Vasa is an early 1600 warship that sank in the harbor on it's maiden voyage. They put in too much ballast. The actual ship is in the museum along with artifacts from the crew. It is very well done and amazing.

Copenhagen is worth the trip. If you venture there November 15 or after visit Tivoli gardens. It is a large park in the middle of the city across from the main train station. It has entertainment, restaurants and amusement rides. This park was Walt Disney's inspiration for the Disney parks.

From Tivoli walk Stroget the walking street with shops and cafes to Nyhavn the 17th century area with restaurants and bars. From there you can continue to the water and up the coast.

If you are driving watch your speed since speed trap cameras are common. Also be aware that Denmark takes drunk driving very seriously with the limit being two beers and the fine was one months pay. That is what it was when we lived there in 1999. Back then the shops were closed on Sunday which I suspect is still the case.

Enjoy the adventure!
