Yes, lots of strange rules Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 1 Dec 2013 16:29:08 In Reply to: What do you own?, DE [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 1 Dec 2013 16:07:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Our youngest owned a condo in Raleigh NC from 2004 thru 2009 while he worked at Research Triangle Park. He had a small antena dish, Dish Network size, added to the rear deck of his unit for viewing TV stations for which he got a nasty letter from the Home Owner's Association. He carefully read the HOA Covenant Agreement and realized the wording was that "an owner may not have a satellite transmission antenna added to their unit without prior approval of the HOA..." He replied back in letter format stating that his antenna was only for receiving satellite radio signals, not for transmtting such signals, and as such he did not violate the Association rules.
They re-wrote that rule the next year.
