around here, the cars that last the longest are the cars that rust the slowest... hondas are definitely not them! That said, there are cars that rust faster than hondas (nowadays anyway)... hondas do seem to run a long time with minimal effort from the owner. But they usually rust or get totalled by the teenage driver behind the wheel before the engine or tranny goes out...
Brands like Saab and Volvo and Audi (of the newer generation anyway) take a long time to rust. That's why they appeal more than other cars to me.
I wonder if the survey was only for new car buyers? I can see Volvo doing well there... but judging from folks here, there a lot of Saab buyers who buy used, and then keep them >>7 years...
