i have a front load samsung dryer - about 6 years old at this point. it was working fine until about two weeks ago when i lost heat. this happened about 2 years ago and it turned out to be a high temp cutout which i replaced and everything was fine until two weeks ago. when the same thing happened, i replaced the part again, got heat going for a little bit, then lost it again. i disassembled the ductwork to the outside, cleaned everything up, even rerouted to make a straighter run - found a good amount of lint build up as well and assumed this was the cause. also pulled apart the dryer back to the blower - found a little more lint, not much, but cleaned this as well. after reassembling, i replaced the high temp cut out and also the thermostat as well. go it going, and ran through 6-7 loads yesterday just fine (with 3 small kids and guests, the laundry builds up quickly...). then this morning i lost the heat again.
the heating element seems fine ( i have connectivity, and no burn marks in side indicating it is broken or touched the housing), plus it heats up fine when running. but something is causing the heat to rise to the point that the safety cut out is tripped.
any thoughts or suggestions as to what to try next?
thanks in advance.
