Once a part owner of Soils Engineering Co. in SF Bay Area. Did a job on Cypress Ave (yes, that Cypress of '89) Oakland. Had to "float" the pad; compaction very tricky. Was stuck in traffic many times on that damn section of Cypress Fwy that came down in the Loma Prieta Earthquake. It jiggled like the Jello that comprised Bay soil there. That type of material is very susceptible to movement if counterweight occurs near; I'd like to know if Wilmington has same soils and what the general development by the bridge looks like.
