Hi Guys,
I would like some opinions about two cars I have for sale and what fair prices are for them. They are both special and very rare and the valuation sites are absolutely useless.
First is a 1972 Sonett III, Baja Red, 42,815 original miles. This is a totally original car. Mechanically perfect. Only things replaced on it are the brake cylinders, the carb (with a Weber), the headliner (with matching original materials) and the seat upholstery (with matching original materials – vinyl is original). This car is in like-new condition. No rust anywhere, garaged all its life. The floor pans even have the original black paint and sound-deadening strips. It has won awards at "Saabs at Carlisle" in 2004 (when it was silver) Third Place; First Place in Class just after it had been painted Baja Red in 2009! Finally, 2nd Place in Class in 2012! I started asking $14,000 and am now down to $10,500. What are your opinions?
Second is a 2000 Lightning Blue 9-3 Viggen Convertible, 74,600 miles. Only 42 Lightning Blue convertibles were ever sold in the US. This car is also in perfect condition. I have put lots of extras into it. Viggen Rescue Kit front steering rack clamp and brace, bigger rear sway bar, heavy (and powder-coated) front upper strut brace, six-point sub-frame brace, direct cold-air intake, custom Lightning Blue painted mesh grille, powder-coated valve cover, Lighting Blue painted engine cover, billet oil filler cap, billet shifter knob cap, billet pedals and dead pedal, polished stainless steel “Viggen” door speaker covers, carbon-fiber dash insert, blue painted calipers. Also has new drilled and slotted rotors and pads all around, new water pump, new battery, new valve cover gasket, replaced matching leather panels on the driver’s seat and seat bolster and a convertible wind screen. This car was second in Viggen class at “Saabs at Carlisle” in 2010 out of more than 20 other Viggens. I started asking $12,000 and am now down to $10,500. Again, what are your opinions?
You can see pictures and descriptions of these two cars on my website “All my Saabs” listed below.
Thanks, and I will really value your input. Doug
