Yeah, I've been fairly underwhelmed with the dunlop tires I've tried. I had a pair of their all seasons hydroplane at 55mph with 6mm of tread left. That's pretty bad imho. The rear axle was Pirelli p6 which did not lose grip (thankfully). Other setups of dunlops eg on rentals etc also I have not been impressed. There must be good Dunlops, but I have not experienced that.
The nokian WR is V rated. Michelin has H and V rated winters also. It depends whether you mainly want dry road performance or snow performance because the 2 really are not very compatible. The really good nokian snow tires are not usually that tight on bare pavement, though that has improved. I've also noticed increased emphasis on rolling resistance in winter tires. Nokian used to be all about safety and snow/ice performance, but more and more they are trying to do that while getting good fuel economy at the same time. Our winter tires increase our fuel economy today, whereas years ago, it was the opposite!
