Is the jack full of fluid with no air bubbles? My jack started giving me troubles last Spring. It would lift high enough to replace wheels but not any higher, well short of its full height limits. I found the Owner's Manual recently and it contained instructions for both purging air and for adding jack oil. I did the purge and found the cylinder surprisingly low on hydraulic oil. Never any obvious evidence of a leak. Wally World sells 8 oz bottles of hydraulic jack oil.
I haven't used the jack since I serviced it but I hope it is cured. Otherwise I have the same question as BobS, "Who makes an affordable quality jack?".
