With so much of engine management already done by the ECU and other computers, this becomes more of a mechanical engineering issue.
It will take a while to get this working, and I can't believe Koenigsegg is the only company working on this. It seems a bit outside the box for a domestic manufacturer, but I can see a Euro or Japanese car maker rolling this out.
I don't understand the 2-stroke/4-stroke/diesel options, doesn't make sense, but need to find out more. Maybe this is one way to have a small (turbochargeable) Otto cycle engine in a hybrid insteqd of a gutless Atkinson cycle engine.
