This part right here could have mentioned companies that actually adopted the tech much earlier and have stuck with it for the very reasons that it is being used more today. (Saab, Porsche)
We Saab folks are (unreasonably? overly? understandably? ridiculously?) passionate about the heritage and philosophy of our now-defunct brand.
This is one instance where I think Saab had it right long before it was financially necessary. Saab did turbos because it was the responsible/elegant/reasonable thing to do...
