The best one was when I got the UPS guy. He had a very surprised look. Before the cats these folks fed the geese, which returned every year and made new geese. All these geese would walk up and down the block crapping on everyone's lawns. The scarecrow worked pretty well with them. And the geese would eventually fly away. Well the cats scared away the geese, now if only we could scare away the neighbors. The sprinkler works well enough on the cats, but I would need a whole network of sprinklers to cover the property, and they become unusable in the winter. So I got the ultrasonic thing, which doesn't seem very effective. The real problem in controlling these cats is apparently NY law considers them to be feral animals. Therefore the local animal control people refuse to intercede with the humans who encourage these pests to congregate in my neighborhood. But don't get me started.
