I'll leave the rest of my message below, but it's now not helpful... It seems that StopTech knows what they're doing.
I have slotted/drilled rotors on my '93 9000 Aero. I don't know the brand (I will ask the guy who owned my car for the last few years). They growl something fierce on heavy braking. They send vibrations through the whole car. I'll look to replace them at some point.
I suspect that it is due to the combination of the slots and the pads in there.
In the past, I've had no issues with additional noise with drilled rotors. This is the first time I've had seriously unpleasant braking characteristics.
