Highway etiquette ? ....logic

I drive a 3 lane ( NYS Thruway ) highway each day. Speeds range anywhere from 60 to 90+ from what ive observed depending on traffic. I'm usually in the slow ( right ) lane doing 65-70, and so are the 18 wheelers, who alternate between the center and slow lane, and sometimes venture into the left ( fast ) lane when they can't get by. My question is : when traffic is light, or managable, if I'm the only car in the slow lane for miles, and trucks are overtaking me, they have to switch into the center lane and then back to the slow lane. Is it good etiquette for me to move over well in advance, into the center lane to afford them a straight shot to pass in the slow lane? Would a trucker appreciate this, or think I'm just gumming up the order of things? Kinda like waiving someone through trying to make a left at an intersection, which as we all know is a big big NO NO ! and potential crash in the making.
