yes, this is 100% for sure the best way to do threading - it takes after the old netnews. Very readable and efficient. Easy to skip obvious crap. Perfect.
"Modern forums" are mostly useless - scrolling through pages of garbage posts full of emoticons, images that don't load or only for members, totally garbled threading and quoting (like post 7 refers to post 2, quotes all of post 2, and just adds a LOL with a smiley... but posts 3,4,5 are back and forth of 2 people, 6 is another post off 1, and then 8 follows up on 4... complete nonsense to follow)
I regularly use the search engine here, but I do find the results from keywords a little non-intuitive, and also the option to search from just one poster name would be quite handy - like when we know CMyles said such and such about some misbehaving tranny a few years back, and the keywords aren't bringing it up.
