Teslas seem nice and I love the hatch. There are a few here in town and I think they're great. But not for us. And they are above my pay grade.
Around town and locally the Teslas would fine for us. Boston, at 65-70 miles is fine. But I also need to drive to NYC (230 miles each way) or central Long Island or New Jersey and back. Occasionally in a day. Other times overnight, but parking options with charging stations are limited in the city or even if I drive part way and then take the train.
Or worse, our 2nd home is 560 miles away. A long drive in a normal car, but easily doable in a single day. In a Tesla it's two days with a hotel that has a charging station in the middle.
Get a 600-700 mile range or on-board recharging like a Volt an I could see having one, but only if they also get a bit less expensive.
