We live in the Township which previously had slightly lower rates since the underground mains are younger (although that distinction is lessening over time) requiring less replacement. Now, because of rapid growth in the township our rates are higher to pay for service expansion , i.e. more and larger mains
A home will be equipped with either a 5/8 or 3/4 inch meter. The other lines on the chart apply to increasingly larger commercial and industrial customers. A residential customer is entitled to 600CF of water every two months for ~$28. Sewage is not metered separately but uses the water meter as the metric so add ~$23 to the bill for every two months, in addition add a flat fee of ~$50 every two months to pay for the sewage treatment plant. The total is a minimum of ~$101 every two months. Add to that another ~$3 for every 100CF a customer uses in excess of their alloted 600 CF.
So water alone is ~$4.50 per 100CF for a residential customer with a price drop for higher consumption. Although a truly frugal customer will pay more than the $4.50/100CF because their usage will be less than the minimum allotment.
