You have to admire the frugality of it. Using something you have anyway instead of having a separate motor. Kind of like VW Beetles using the air in the spare tire to power the windshield washers. Or oil bath air cleaners. There is something kind of elegant about simple solutions. I didn't know they stuck with it that long. The AMX is still one of my favorite cars from that era.
