Know nothing about cars. Not disparaging your daughter-in-law, just my observations from spending almost 40 years in GM. Brilliant engineers in their specific niches of study but no general knowledge about cars at all. Some I met had no idea how to tell if a car was front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or all-wheel/four-wheel drive by examining it on a hoist!
My job was to design and construct factory and office buildings, yet the naivete of these automotive engineers regarding their final products was astounding to me - maybe frightening.
