Disclaimer - haven't had any experience with one, nor am I a plumber. That being said, the hot water tank and the cold water taps are fed from the same source - incoming from (well, city, etc). Therefore, if you plumbed the discharge from the re-circulator right back to the cold water feed at the sink, what's the difference? You are taking hot water out of the tank, which needs to be replenished, why couldn't it back feed through the cold water pipes?
