In the grand scheme of things, I doubt there's a huge difference. Oil definitely flows out that drain faster when hot, which suggests that more suspended particles are maybe being carried out during the draining.
A cold change, probably does remove a tiny bit more oil, given it has more time to settle down into the pan overnight... so I can understand part of that argument as well.
To me it's a matter of practical observation.. if I have a glass with some lemonade or ice tea powder, not fully mixed, sitting on the bottom, and i poured it out slowly.. would those particles all be removed.. or will a few remain on the bottom? On the other hand. if I stirred it up.. and poured it out quickly, wouldn't more be removed?
