Thanks for the tip, EGD. I'd like to stay in Oregon if possible. Mt. Vernon or Madras (further west) are both close to the transit path. I'd have to leave SOC '17 by late Saturday to allow ample travel time. Pomona to Mt Vernon is a little over 14 hours and 880 miles via I-80 (short-cutting through Nevada). I'd opt for the scenic and slow roadways on the return trip.
