A sad story on many fronts taking place only ~20 miles from me. Ben, a co-worker friend, travelled to this guys property with a car hauler and a wad of cash after gleaning information regarding some of the cars being 'stored'. Ben was looking for any Porsche, old BMW's of specific chassis and engine combinations, and the Datsun Fairlady.
Ben came back with an empty trailer and a healthy case of dis-belief. The guy was cagey, evasive, and downright uncooperative. Any car which was easily viewable was "Not for Sale". Any car which was somewhat hidden could not have the junk cleared away to be examined. Ben was planning to make notes of any old Saabs on the property which he would hand off to me, but as he told me later, "Why bother when nothing was for sale anyway." Ben said it became obvious the guy has more issues than just too many non-running cars on his property.
