Hello,
Your car has gm passkey 3 I believe so there is a chip in the key. So they key needs to be there for the anti theft to read it and allow the car to stay running. I guess it is possible you damaged the antenna depending on how you removed the key. If you have another key you can google gm passkey 3 relearn procedure and maybe that will get you going. It takes about a half hour and you will want to put a charger on the battery to make sure the voltage doesn't get too low while performing the relearn. Good Luck, Bernie
