I finally got one of these a few years ago and it's amazing. It's a nice convenience item for lug nuts and whatnot, speeds things up and saves wear and tear on, well, you. But it's really clutch for stuff like crank pulley bolts or pinion nuts that otherwise require a lot more effort to keep from just spinning with a conventional breaker bar, oh and using it with a spring compressor rather than cranking away with a ratchet probably saved me hours alone. Anyway, get one!
I happen to have a Craftsman C3 and I'm happy with it but I think a big factor is do you current have other battery tools or plan to get any as the batteries interchange and this could be the deciding factor in your brand choice. Another issue I have, perhaps from not using the tool with great frequency, is the batteries lose strength after a while, which makes a big difference on an impact gun where you're often asking for full power. If you're only planning to use a few times a year you might consider a corded one.
I did just take a look at the newest Dewalt gun - it claims 700 ft/lbs of torque which is insane and more than double most guns. I'm sure it's a bit bulky and heavy and more expensive than a typical impact, but it looks like the only one on the market that could potentially replace a big air gun.
