I have few friends that have either had ceramic applied or did it themselves. Like most sealants they look really good when first done but the cermanic prep and the sealant can go into $1,000's.
The Meguiar's Hybrid Cermanic Wax has very similar property's of ceramic but doesn't last as long. I applied Meg's Hybrid almost two months ago and washed it by hand about 6 times and the beads are finally just starting to not hold as much water. The beading was the best I have ever seen of any sealant. But with water bearing so comes the ability to hold more dirt. It would make such large beads I had to use an extra towel when drying. Now I take the blower to it before towel drying.
The application process is to have a clean, undried car and spray Hybrid right over the water. Wipe over with a towel to smooth the product out and dry. Every wash after that just wash and rinsing, spray Hybrid on wet car and rinse off again. End it with drying as you normally would.
I went without respraying at each rinse to see how long it would last.
