For the record I agree. And frankly I cant imagine the stress of LEO at a late night, middle of nowhere, of a car with tinted windows.
That said, I have my windows tinted on all of my cars. It noticeably reduces the load on the AC and reduces the UV damage of the interior. Here in NC, the tint darkness is checked at inspection time with a light meter. The inspection station charges $10 extra, on top of the inspection fee, for any vehicles with tinted windows. If too dark you will fail.
