GM2900 platform was introduced in 1988, so it was already pretty old by 1995. This platform was not a premium platform, too. It was intended for inexpensive family cars like the 1989 Opel Vectra A and the Vauxhall Cavalier. Having said that, other cars in this segment had similar crash test performance, with the exception of the Volvo 850.
