Any experience with these "cash for cars" companies?

My brother has an old Ford Escort wagon with high mileage that was in a fender bender earlier this year (other driver's fault). The car is still drivable, but due to high mileage and upcoming needed other repairs, he has already replaced it with a new daily driver. He is debating whether to donate it to some charity or sell it to one of these "cash for cars" companies, but is not sure which ones are reputable. He heard good things about one called "Peddle" but had not heard of it before as it is not one of the ones that advertises on TV. He does not want to go to the trouble of selling it himself because it is just not likely worth enough to go through that hassle.
