Hello,
It's a hard question if I would use it. The main reason being the lack of certification for newer cars. So it may have additives that are bad for converters. Or be missing the additives the engine needs. But if it was my car and I was just seeing how much abuse it could take I would use it.
As far as were your oil is going it most likely is burning past the rings. Luckily the converters out there today are so effecient that they incinerate the oil and you don't have a cloud of smoke following you. Good Luck, Bernie
