(Jerry posted this on Facebook earlier today and asked people to share it with everyone. Happy for Jerry, but sad for the greater Saab community. Just to make this clear, I am not Jerry Danner. I am just copying what he wrote here so folks on Saabnet who did not see this on Facebook would know about it. I am just sharing the information as Jerry asked.)

This e mail is not the easiest letter to send for me to all of my Facebook friends. Share this post everyone you know.

Mile Hi Automotive will be retiring and closing April 29, 2021. Our last day of business April 29, 2021. This means I will be retiring.

After 52 years of service for the Saab industry, Mile Hi Automotive and Jerry Danner will be retiring April 29, 2021. “I was first around Saab’s when I was 11. Now I am 67, I grew up through the entire lifecycle of Saab thanks to my Father and Mother Ken & Clara Danner. I cannot ask for a better career and the only job I have ever had. For the last 52 years I have considered my business as a hobby shop where I enjoyed every day. Mechanical abilities came natural to me. I always worked at Dad’s shop and graduated in 1971. I still have customers who were with Mile Hi back then and currently today. They were in the infancy of their career just getting started as I was. I got to see them grow up and they got to see me grow up. Retiring is a difficult decision for me because of the “Saab” empire I have built. I realize this may be a hardship in the Colorado region for Saab enthusiasts. I hope you understand. For those who have retired I’ve heard life is enjoyable. Now that I am in my golden years and in good health, I decided to enjoy the time I have remaining with my health, my son, his family, and my daughter Michelle. For all my customers, thank you for your dedication to Mile Hi Automotive. My dedication is to all of you and to the many dedicated employees Mile Hi has employed. I want to thank my family for supporting me for the long hours I dedicated to the company. I will always be a true dedicated Saab Enthusiasts, but in the capacity of being an enthusiasts, not a business owner. I will always retain my mechanical talents and continue to work on Saab’s as a hobbyist. To sum it up, the love of Saab isn’t dying, I am simply retiring.” Keep your ears open for ‘Mile Hi Automotive Specialties’.

Mile Hi Automotive is in Denver, Colorado. I have amassed a huge amount of Saab parts all
rust-free. In June 2021, I am going to host a Pick & Pull for anyone who wants to carry away really good Colorado (rust free) parts at amazing prices. Check out our web site for time schedules (soon will be active) http://www.milehiauto.com . I will also post on all the Saab Forum’s to make sure my parts get in the right hands on a weekly basis.

I know many of my customers who are retired or getting ready to retire, I would like to share with them this adventure! Over the years I have had three employees retire from me with over 30 years of service each. Good for them. For any business owner to retire is a hard decision to make. For those who know me, I have always put my customer’s needs and my employee’s needs before my needs. For those who know Mile Hi Automotive, we have amassed a huge amount of Saab parts. Breaking down a business like mine is four times harder than running it.
Check our web page at (soon will be active) http://www.milehiauto.com for details and timelines. We will have listed on the web page many service providers I have contacted and they will be happy to continue the service on your Saab.

I want all of my dedicated friends who know me to be happy for me to retire. Be happy for me not mad at me.

Respectfully,
Jerry Danner
