Hello,
I just use any good branded Dot 4 fluid available today. The first time I ever saw Dot 4 LV being used was in BMW's around 2000. If they had a pre-pump on the ABS system the LV fluid was specified with the threat being the pre-pump could not handle the non LV fluid in the dead of winter. Since then it seems most of the European makes have switched to the LV fluid sometime between 2010 and now. According to there literature it is for the modern ABS/TCS/Stability programs to work faster. Everything I have checked says using LV fluid were non LV fluid was specified does not damage anything but I know BMW in the beginning stated any addition of non LV fluid in the pre-pump cars was grounds to try to completely flush out all the fluid with fresh fluid to remove the non LV fluid. I have thought about using the LV fluid in ESP cars but really doubt it would help any the stability program works quite well with non LV fluid. Good Luck, Bernie
