Would be no problem to get 900HP out of
the SAAB engine provided that you update
some bits and pieces and use a larger
turbo and intercooler. Per Eklund got 750Hp
out of his 2.0L engine.

Remind you that the BMW 4cyl turbo used
in F1 cars many years ago had 1400Hp in
qualification trim, with 1500cc

Do we need 900Hp cars on the market, no...
Can we use the 2.3L engine to get 380Hp... YES
The latest Hirsh tunned 2.3L engine is at 309Hp
and that at 5800RPM, considering that this
leaves at least 1200 RPM for a sports engine
that could go to 7000RPM. There is plenty of
potential left.

As to S4 engine, do you honestly believe that
those will be as durable as the 2.3L SAAB engine ?
if you do, you're very optimistic. Lets look at
the facts, even un-chipped the S4 and 2.7T have
problem after problem with their turbo's and other
parts.

Remind you that the 2.0L engine build by FIAT and
used in the Integralle delivers 380Hp in race trim.

So, I believe that my analysis is correct, AUDI builds
those complex and delicate engines for marketing reasons.

Even if we simply compare the 3.0L V6 from AUDI with
the new 3.0L I6 from BMW, the BMW offers more HP and
the same amount of torque.

So in the end, Audi did build one more rather unexceptional
engine that realy does not deserve the LABEL NEW.

One more thing, friend of mine has an old Dino with a 2.4L
V6 that pops out 260 to 280Hp depending on what camshaft he
uses.

3.0L V6 30 Valves = Pure Marketing Thing

Regards,
Coolknight
