9-5 vs. Olds Aurora

This summer, we bought a 2001 Olds Aurora for my wife. We looked at lots of cars, and the Saab 9-5 was at the top of the list. If the dealer had had a manual transmission 9-5 in stock, we probably would have bought that, but comparing the V6/automatic version of the 9-5 with the Aurora V6, the Aurora came out on top for us. The main reason was that the nearest Saab dealer is over 400 miles away, while the Olds dealer is three blocks from our office. That, plus the fact that the Aurora was thousands cheaper with similar equipment, and gets better mileage on regular gas, made the decision for us.
In my opinion, if GM could cut Oldsmobile, which sells one decent car (Alero) and two nice cars (Aurora and Intrigue), Saab fans should worry big time. I think GM should do more to promote Saab, and one thing would be to add more dealers. When the lease on the Aurora is up in three years, we'll be back in the market, and I sure would like to consider a Saab again.
One more thing, Olds fans don't have a terrific web site and bulletin boards like SaabNet. I hope you'll tolerate me here from time to time.
