Personally I can't stand where 35 and 635 merge - once again designed by a moron! The worst part is where 635 east meets with the 35 south on-ramp. If you are going straight on 635 they narrow the lanes from five lanes to two and they just added an HOV lane that merges right where 35 South traffic merges on to 635 - I couldn't believe it when I saw it! It has only been this way for a few months and I get the pleasure of dealing with it every morning on my way to work.
My big Dallas area rant is regarding the HOV lanes. Gimmie a break...nobody shares rides to work in Texas - it is too spread out. On top of the fact that they aren't used the transit patrol causes more traffic than ever before. Everyone passing the motorcycle cops has to slow down to check it out and on 635 they have no place to pull the guys over and have to cross four lanes of traffic to do so!! We would all be better off with just an extra lane.
Anyway...back to the topic...
Dallas drivers are terrible - especially with cell phone use. They are also too unpredictable and are usually not paying attention.
Dallas highways and roads have the worse ruts. Theruts on 35 are amazing - I really have to hold on to the wheel of the Saab when I am on 35.
New Jersey drivers are some of the worst as well. There is no fooling around driving in the Garden State. Obnoxious is an understatement. I do like the fact that NJ drivers are predictable. Both my parents are from NJ - lived there their whole life - I learned how to drive well given their instruction.
Worst traffic is the Chicago area. Never again will I live around Chicago - it is worse than anything I have witnessed in the Northeast or LA and I have significant experience sitting in traffic.
Worst global drivers are in Paris. Those French folks are wild and can be so rude.
As you can tell I have many opinions on this topic!
