My previous car had that feature. In the three years I had it, it only came on once - when I was taking a corner and hit an unexpected ice patch. A lot of unexpected clunking and groaning went on as well as the light on the dash flashing, but the car maintained control. I was sold.
Granted, it takes the fun out of 10/10ths driving - but that's why they give you a switch to turn it off. Then you can go and cut all of the donuts you want.
