I used pennzoil 10w-30 for years in my '80 900GLi, '83 900T, and '86 900T. Change intervals were 5000 miles for the GLi, and 3000 for the Turbos. I've never had any oil-related problems in any of my SAABs.
I just switched to Mobil-1 0w-30 synthetic at my last oil change, and am due for another change this week (My '86 SPG has 199,985 miles right now). I'm changing at 3000 miles due to the "flushing" effect of synth, but will extend the change intervals, and probably switch to Amsoil when the oil starts coming out clean.
My plan is to change the filter at 205,000 and send out an oil sample for analysis. I'd like to extend the interval to 10k or 15k, with filter changes every 5k.
