Sure, civilizations come and go and there
is no doubt in my mind that one day people
will excavate a Hard Disk and wonder what
they were for.
I guess their conclusion will be that our
civilization was based upon a huge paper
industry and that we used paper for all kind
of purposes. They will say that big paper
producers like United, even used strange machines
to carry the stuff around...
They will conclude that after there were no
trees left our civilization vanished... or
something like that.
Look at the numbers, 6 Billion people and only
2 Billion that is part of our civilization.
Thus sooner or later this world is bound to
fall back into the middle ages. In fact many
parts of the world never left that age.
I still think that the main reason for the vanishing of
any civilization is the fact that they teached their
future enemies how to deal with them, instead of keeping
a monopoly on the important strategic things.
Regards,
Coolknight
