Now that you got me started about U2, how about their being a cow to British/Northern interests in the struggle for freedom???
All you need to know about their brand of politics is summed in the intro to their (if I remember correctly) live version of "Bloody Sunday" where they decalre "This isn't a rebel song". Isn't a rebel song??? A song about the massacre??? Is that a bit like singing a song about about mandela and claiming it isn't about apartheid? You may not like the violence, but it is a rebel song and to deny the appropriate emotions of hate and vengence engendered by the terrible acts of that day in order to sell some records as a "band for peace" is absurd and wrong.
ahhh..they'll still sell bunches o' records.
